Synopsis: KATABASIS explores the process of mourning as mystic journey. A young woman deals with the death of her father, a loss that forces her to dive deep into a state of grief.

Greek word for descending, KATAVASIS is the story of a woman that deals with the death of her father, a loss that forces her to dive deep into a state of grief. From beginning to end, we follow these two characters, who put on different faces in order to renegotiate their role to one another: father to burden, daughter to wife.

We follow them as they go down, underground, deeper and deeper to their own state of mind. And just like that the process of mourning becomes a rite of passage and more specifically that practiced on the Eleusinian Mysteries, where sleep is a foretaste of death and death is a pomegranate.
